July 2009 Autism Group DISNEY Cruise

Staff

The following Alumni Cruises staff members
will accompany you
on your cruise.

Autism Event Staff

Helyn Moore
Autism Group Leader
Alumni Cruises

Helyn Moore is the owner and director of the Relationship Development Center (RDC) for children with autism and related disabilities.  The RDC provides family support, advocacy, social development and behavioral intervention to children and adults affected by autism.

Helyn is also the Autism Speaks Tampa Walk now for Autism Research Chairperson. Under Helyn’s leadership, the 1996 Tampa inaugural walk raised over $200,000 for autism research and was attended by over 2500 walkers affected by autism.  The Tampa inaugural walk was the third largest inaugural event held in the country.

Helyn is the mother of two children, one of whom has autism. When Helyn was unable to find a cub-scouting troop that met the special needs of her son, she started one. She has served on multiple community organization boards to improve the quality of life for persons affected by autism. She attends Autism Speak’ legislative meetings every year in Washington DC to lobby for services and funding for autism research. Helyn brings a wealth of knowledge and event planning as well as creativity and fun to all activities that she is involved with.
